Aleš Šteger belongs to the generation of writers and poets that began writing and publishing in the years after the breakup of Yugoslavia. His works are translated into 16 languages and have been published in internationally acclaimed magazines and newspapers such as The New Yorker and Die Zeit. The Slovenian poet has received numerous awards and honors including the ‘Chevalier dans le ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ from the French state and being a member of the ‘Akademie der Künste’ in Berlin.
